Laurent Wehrli was elected to the Swiss Parliament in 2015 as a member of the FDP party. From 2002 to 2015, he was a member of the Upper Council of the Canton of Waadt, which he chaired in 2013-2014. Wehrli is mayor of Montreux, owns and directs a trust company, and he works on various international projects. He also sits on the Foreign Affairs Committee, is a member of the Swiss Delegation to the Francophonia Parliamentary Assembly (APF) and served as its President from 2019 to 2021.
