Member of Parliament

Dr Christopher Kalila, MP, is a distinguished Zambian Medical Doctor dedicating over seventeen (17) years to serving as a General and Family Practitioner before ttransitioning into politics in 2008. Dr Kalila was nominated to the Zambian Parliament and appointed Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports. He subsequently served as Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Works and Supply in 2009 and as Deputy Minister of Health in 2010. In 2011, he was elected as the Member of Parliament for Lukulu East, a position he has held through successive terms. He has chaired the Parliamentary Committee on Health, Community Development, and Social Services, and led the Zambian TB Caucus, focusing on combating Tuberculosis. 

Dr Kalila was elected Chairperson of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Executive Committee, in November 2024, during the 67th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference in Sydney, Australia, becoming the second Zambian and fifth African to hold this esteemed position.
