Jarvis worked in several roles in global justice, human rights, rule of law, gender, equality, and governance. He is also the former Special Adviser to UN Women; Head of Justice/Human Rights Adviser at the Commonwealth Secretariat (justice, rights, rule of law, gender). Jarvis also undertook roles with the Malawi Government and the Malawi Human Rights Commission. He holds degrees in Human rights law and humanitarian law.
