Constantin M. Cotzias is Bloomberg’s Global Head of Government Affairs and Chairman of the Bloomberg London office. He was previously global head of Bloomberg Law, Bloomberg’s legal news and research platform. He joined Bloomberg in 2001 as Chief Counsel and Compliance Officer. Since 2016, he has been a board member of the Mayor of London’s Advisory Board. Prior to Bloomberg, Cotzias was a senior mergers and acquisitions lawyer at Denton Wilde Sapte (presently known as Denton), one of the United Kingdom’s largest law firms, where he advised on mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and IPOs across industries including media, telecoms, technology, and energy. From 1998-2000, he was chief counsel of Denton Wilde Sapte’s Moscow office. He holds a bachelor’s degree in modern history and politics and is a law graduate from the London School of Economics (University of London). Cotzias earned honours in the English Law Society Final Examinations and is a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales. Cotzias was a member of the British under-23 rowing squad and is a British National Rowing Championships medallist. He was selected to represent Great Britain at the European Triathlon Championships in 2006. Cotzias speaks French and German fluently, and is conversational in Russian, Greek, and Italian.
