Principal, Hitachi Ventures
Joanna combines technical expertise in biotechnology with her business acumen in strategy and innovation. As a Principal at Hitachi Ventures, she oversees healthcare investments spanning techbio, biotech, life sciences, platforms, data, AI, and robotics and automation. Previously, she was a Manager in biotech and pharma consulting at PwC, where she focused on the intersection of digital technologies, real-world data, and medicine. Before that, she led strategy, R&D, and innovation management in healthcare IT, diagnostics, and precision medicine at the European Business Innovation Center, and later at Konica Minolta’s Global R&D.
Joanna holds an M.Sc. in Biology from Jagiellonian University, a PhD in Biochemistry from the Technical University of Munich, and was a Marie Curie Fellow at Cancer Research UK, where she conducted postdoctoral training in genetics and oncology.
